Columns

Several outlets have asked me to write regular columns for them over the years. These have included a series of highly evocative travel essays for BC Business Magazine; a run of Vancouver stories for BBC Travel; a regular Cool Streets of B.C. feature for Westworld Magazine; and a multi-year run of handy how-to travel stories (with a finance bent) for MoneySense Magazine.
My most prominent column, though, was a three-year stint as the Travel Concierge for Canada's Globe and Mail national newspaper. In this weekly column, I answered travel-related questions from readers, covering a huge array of themes including Canada's best beer destinations, Australia's coolest wildlife-spotting spots, and how to travel with kids without losing your mind. The column was very successful and garnered a great deal of social media interest. Here's my final column.
